Paramount Skydance Plans to Eliminate Approximately 2,000 American Positions – News
Paramount Skydance plans to start mass layoffs beginning on 27 October, eliminating approximately 2,000 American roles under a cost-cutting plan totaling $2bn overseen by top executive David Ellison.
These job cuts are a result of the combination of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, completed this past August valued at $8.4bn.
Additional global layoffs are expected, as the firm aiming to announce all specifics via its third quarter earnings report scheduled for November 10.
Prior news had indicated the firm aimed to reduce between 2,000 to 3,000 roles by the beginning of next month.
By December 2024, the company had about 18,600 full- and part-time employees plus 3,500 temporary project employees.
Paramount Skydance did not immediately respond on the matter.
